Military Personnel Killed By OSPAC Vigilante In Omuanwa Ikwerre LGA Rivers State

There has been serious tension in the air in Ikwerre Local Government as some members of a local Vigilante group known as OSPAC in Omuanwa, shot dead an Airforce Officer.

Naijagist.net gathered that trouble started when Members of OSPAC in the community attempted to force youths in the area into Oath taking. According to an eye witness who confirmed the incident says The Airforce Officer who came for Christmas holiday was killed when he approached members of the OSPAC to release his brother they detained for days without food and he had a fight with one of the OSPAC member which was immediately settle and everyone went home.

Minutes later the agrieved OSPAC personal came to the Airforece personel’ house alone with gun and immediately shot at him severally,  the airforce personek fell down and died, the OSPAC member was immediately apprehended by the youth of the community and handed over to the police as he tried to escape.

Omunawa youth angered by this event headed straight to the house of the OSPAC  personnel and caused some damages

Recall that the Rivers State police command had recently declared the commander of same group in Elele wanted for allegedly killing a 17 year old boy in the area.

As at time of filling this report, Omuanwa Youths has taken over OSPAC office in the area chanting war songs.

When contacted the Police PRO Grace Koko in a short note wrote that  ‘the case in Omuanwa in Ikwerre  LGA,  the OSPAC personnel has been arrested. she gave his name as Progress Amecheta’ m’ the suspect is detained in SCID investigation on going any other development will be communicated”
