“Funke Akindele Is My Candidate” – Nollywood actress openly endorses Funke Akindele
Popular nollywood actress, Funke Akindele has once again bagged massive support from a friend and colleague in the Nigerian movie industry. Some hours ago, nollywood actress and movie producer Ruth Kadiri went openly to her official Instagram account to state Funke Akindele as her choice candidate for the Lagos state gubernatorial election.
On Saturday, the 11th of March, 2023, elections will be conducted in the state for a new governor and Ruth Kadiri has stated who she will be voting for. She made this known to her fans and followers via her Instagram account.
she wrote “It’s election season! And @funkejenifaakindele is my candidate. Reasons been. You’re hardworking. You’re smart. You’re tough. You’re emotional. Above all, you’re disciplined. You dare to tread where others won’t fly. You’re a risk-taker. I know you’re a filmmaker. I trust you will do a good job. YOU HAVE MY VOTE.”
Recall that months ago, the award-winning actress declared her interest in politics and was picked by the PDP gubernatorial candidate as a running mate under the People’s Democratic Party. The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos, Olajide Adediran, picked her as his running mate for the 2023 general election.
Her response was: I’m going to put aside my acting career now to give Lagosians the opportunity of a better life.”
The award-winning actress said her passion for the youth, women and children made her yield to the ” clarion call.”
She said: “I’m very passionate about young people; I love to empower and nurture talents. I love to give opportunities to women. I love children so much that I’ll do anything to support them, children.
